Bringing together artistic creativity with legal and humanitarian values, the College of Fine Arts at the University of Baghdad organized the first edition of the International Exhibition of Justice and the Judiciary under the theme “Justice Is a Human Value.” The exhibition was officially inaugurated by the President of the Supreme Judicial Council, Judge Dr. Faiq Zidan, on Saturday, October 17, 2026, in the presence of the President of the University of Baghdad, Professor Dr. Alaa Abdulhassan Atiyah, and the Dean of the College of Fine Arts, Professor Dr. Mudhad Al-Asadi.

The opening ceremony, held at the headquarters of the Supreme Judicial Council, was attended by several judges, public prosecutors, directors general, college deans, and ambassadors. The event highlighted the importance of utilizing art to address humanitarian and social issues while strengthening cooperation among academic, judicial, and cultural institutions.

The exhibition provided an artistic and cultural platform for exploring the concepts of justice, fairness, judicial independence, and the rule of law. Through a collection of artworks, participating artists presented creative perspectives emphasizing the significance of justice in human life and the role of judicial institutions in protecting rights and freedoms and upholding legal principles.

The exhibition was organized as part of the College of Fine Arts’ mission to promote art as a universal language capable of addressing fundamental societal issues. Through visual and creative expressions, the College seeks to raise awareness of legal and humanitarian values while strengthening the presence of art in national and institutional events. This event further underscores the cultural and social role of the College of Fine Arts and its ability to harness creative talent in developing artistic initiatives that extend beyond conventional exhibition formats. By presenting justice through artistic expression, the exhibition reinforces the understanding of justice as a fundamental pillar of a state governed by institutions, the protection of rights and freedoms, and the establishment of the rule of law.
